Sealed proposals will be received by the Purchasing Agent/City Clerk, City of Vestavia Hills until 2:00 PM CST on Tuesday May 18, 2021 in the City Council Executive Conference Room, City of Vestavia Hills City Hall, 1032 Montgomery Highway, Vestavia Hills AL 35216 for:

Vestavia Hills Bill F Towers Fire STN. Number One – VESTAVIA HILLS, ALABAMA

at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read.

The work will include but is not limited to the following items: Modification of existing interior space, including removal of existing interior partitions, finishes, ceilings, doors and other components identified in the construction drawings. The interior improvements include new construction, modification and/or installation of interior partitions, doors/frames, interior finishes, existing MEP systems, and other items identified in the construction drawings. Approximate Value: $300,000.00.

A cashier’s check or bid bond payable to the City of Vestavia Hills, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder’s proposal.  Performance and statutory Labor and Material Payment Bonds, and insurance in compliance with requirements, will be required at the signing of the Contract.

A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 10:00 AM CST at the City of Vestavia Hills City Hall Executive Conference Room, 1032 Montgomery Hwy Vestavia Hills AL 35216 for the purpose of reviewing the project and answering Bidder’s questions. We will spend 30 minutes over viewing the project, and then go to the for a site walk-through. 509 Montgomery Highway Vestavia Hills, AL 35216. Attendance at the Pre-Bid Conference is required for all Contractor Bidders intending to submit a Proposal, and highly recommended for all Subcontractors.  Bids from Contractor Bidders who do not attend the Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be rejected.

The total estimated construction cost is $300,000 with a construction period of 180 days after the official Notice to Proceed.

Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the Architect/Project Manager and contained in the Bidding Project Manual, or original copies thereof.  All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State

Licensing Board for Contractors must be licensed under the Provision of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, as amended, and must show such evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by Architect or Owner;  the bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying their current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered and on the Proposal Form.  The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner’s judgement, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted.
