SUMMARY:Salute to Veterans Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Mark your calendar for this family-friendly afternoon of honoring veterans from all branches of service. This annual Veterans Day celebration features food, fun and entertainment – all with a patriotic theme.\nMayor Ashley Curry and the City of Vestavia Hills will honor veterans from all service branches on Monday, November 9, 2–4pm at the Vestavia Hills Civic Center, 1090 Montgomery Highway. Festivities begin at 12pm with the Senior Luncheon (55+), entertainment TBD. Then, from 1-5pm there will be a health and resources fair with a focus on veteran services that all are welcome to attend. From 2-3pm, Mayor Curry will host a patriotic program celebrating veterans.\nSend us your photos! We would like to include veteran photos of you or a family member in our event video. Please email a scanned photo of yourself, family members or friends who have served or are currently serving in any branch of the military to eanderson@vhal.org ( mailto:eanderson@vhal.org ). Please include (1) service member’s first and last name; (2) military rank; (3) branch of service; (4) military conflict/theater of operation; and (5) dates of military service (if available).  If you have previously submitted a photo, no need to resubmit.\nSend us your artwork! The Vestavia Hills Arts Council is hosting an artwork competition in partnership with the Veterans Day celebration. All entries will be displayed at the event. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will be selected in each division. Winners will be recognized during the event.\n
