Parks and Recreation Board

Vestavia Hills is fortunate to have strong community support for its parks and recreation programming. The Parks and Recreation Board, which is appointed by resolution of the City Council, provides governance including policies and planning for Vestavia Hills Parks and Recreation. The Vestavia Hills Parks and Recreation Foundation (VHPRF)  partners with the Board and with the City to raise support for parks and recreational facilities and programs.

The Vestavia Hills Parks and Recreation Board typically meets the 3rd Tuesday of every odd-numbered month at 7am at City Hall (1032 Montgomery Hwy) with work sessions typically scheduled on the alternating (even-numbered) months. Vacancies – At the last scheduled October meeting of the Vestavia Hills City Council, an announcement is made of any upcoming vacancy on the Vestavia Hills Parks and Recreation Board whereby the Council will begin to accept applications for said vacancy. At that time, information along with an application will be available on the City website.

The civic engagement of our many volunteer members of City boards and committees are essential to our high quality of life in Vestavia Hills.
