The Freedom from Addiction Coalition was established in January 2018 by the mayors of Vestavia Hills, Mountain Brook, Homewood and Hoover. The intent of the coalition is to raise awareness about the drug addiction problems faced by our citizens, provide available resources and, in so doing, hopefully prevent the inevitable overdoses that occur. We feel that a life lost to drug addiction is one too many.
The mission of the Freedom from Addiction Coalition is to help individuals that want to help themselves. The purpose of this information is to serve as a resource to help individuals, parents or loved ones in need of assistance with drug or alcohol addiction. Addiction does not discriminate and deeply effects many in our city, state and nation. As such, the participating municipalities are committed to assisting anyone struggling with addiction.
