The Vestavia Hills Dogwood Festival is the longest running festival in the state! It is comprised of multiple events taking place citywide, including Wing Ding, Heights Hangout, Dogwood Luncheon, Battle of the Bands and so much more … there is something for everyone! February Events

21: Kids Day: Character Meet & Greet (RISE)
9-11am, Vestavia Hills High School Gym
With 60+ characters, including Disney favorites and Superhero friends, this annual event is for the young or the young at heart! $15 per child/adults FREE! Tickets are available on GoFan.co: https://gofan.co/event/4947001. Benefitting the Adolescent and Young Adult Oncology Program at UAB.

26: Mahjong in the Hills
9am-12:30pm, Vestavia Hills Civic Center
Check in at 9am, grab your card, gather your friends and join us for a fun morning of Mahjong in the Hills! Whether you’re a seasoned player or love the game, this social play event is all about great company, good vibes and celebrating the start of the Dogwood Festival. No pressure, just fun! Be sure to bring your 2025 American Mahjong League card, if you have one! Mahjong sets provided for single players; tables must bring their own Mahjong sets. 28: Rebel Fun Run & 5K Color Run
8:30am, Vestavia Hills High School (Front Parking Lot)
The 13th Annual Rebel Run will wind through the neighborhoods near VHHS with color stations along the route. This long-standing tradition of Vestavia Hills students and community members is a great way to celebrate the start of spring for a wonderful cause. 7: Exceptional Foundation Chili Cook-off

The Exceptional Foundation’s largest annual event is the Chili Cook-Off, which was named Best Community Event by Mountain Brook Magazine and Best Annual Charity Event by About Town Magazine. All proceeds from the event – featuring live music, a kids’ zone, and all the chili you can eat – directly benefits our programs at The Exceptional Foundation. 13: All-Nashville Roadshow

This traveling show from Nashville will feature performances by Charlie Argo, Gloria Anderson and Summerlyn Powers, with Zach Selwyn serving as host. More than a concert, the event showcases Nashville’s food, craft beer and culture with Nashville hot chicken sandwiches, fried bologna, barbeque, slaw dogs, moon pies, RC Cola and Nashville craft beer. 3: Easter Extravaganza

Join us for spring fun as we hunt eggs, photos with Big Bunny, play games, eat snacks and pet cute animals! The egg drop begins promptly at 11:05am, so don’t miss out! All ages. Sponsored by the Library in the Forest.

3: Bunny Hop Egg Hunt
2-4pm, Cahaba Heights Park (Fox Field)
Join us for spring fun as we hunt eggs, photos with our Big Bunny, play games and eat snacks! All ages. Sponsored by the Library in the Forest.

4: Hunt the Hills
10am-5pm, Various Business Districts Citywide
Easter eggs – filled with coupons, candy and goodies – will be hidden in participating Vestavia Hills businesses! Every egg has a prize inside!! Check back for locations and more information!

4: Battle of the Bands
5-9pm, Rocky Ridge Business District
Rocky Ridge Entertainment district will host the 8th annual Battle of the Bands competition at Rocky Ridge Plaza. This live music competition features bands from area middle schools and high schools competing for a total of $2,000 in prize money. Bands are judged on criteria including musicianship, showmanship and creativity. Enjoy food and beverages from nearby restaurants and browse retail shops, all within walking distance. Bands perform 3-4 song sets and winners will be announced at the conclusion of the event. First place and second place prizes are $750 and $250, respectively. 8: Dogwood Luncheon & Fashion Show
10:30am, Vestavia Hills Civic Center
Don’t miss this signature spring event! Doors open at 10:30am for the silent auction followed by the fashion show, presentation and luncheon begin at 11am. This year’s fashion show will once again featuring the latest trends from area boutiques and clothiers. Tickets are $40 each and must be purchased in advance. Tickets may be purchased via Venmo (@vh-dogwood) or by check. If using Venmo, include your full name in the notes section. If purchasing multiple tickets, be sure to include the names of the attendees to be seated at your table. 18: Teen Art Market

20: Historical Society Presentation: Sculptor Craigger Brown
2pm, Vestavia Hills City Hall
Craigger Brown is a marble sculptor, working and living in Sylacauga, AL. He graduated from Vestavia Hills High School in 1986 and received his BFA from the University of Montevallo in 1991. He spent years studying abroad, honing his craft and developing as an artist. For decades, he divided his time between Italy and Birmingham, until 2011 when he discovered beautiful Sylacauga marble. Since then, he has been working exclusively in Alabama’s State stone and his work can be found in corporate and private collections on five of seven continents.
