Election Information

The next Municipal Election will be a candidates election scheduled for August 26, 2025.  Information will be updated at that time.

Candidates wishing to run for office may begin to receive/expend campaign monies on August 26, 2024.  Candidates should be familiar with current provisions and requirements of the Fair Campaign Practices Act.  Candidates guides can be obtained by vising the Alabama Secretary of State’s website:

  • Election candidate packets will be available Spring, 2025.  A candidates day will be announced at that time to allow anyone interested to come and learn.

Need to register to vote or update your registration information? Visit https://www.sos.alabama.gov/alabama-votes/voter/register-to-vote to download or submit a State of Alabama Mail-In Voter Registration Form. Got questions? Find your County Board of Registrars contact info at https://www.sos.alabama.gov/alabama-votes/board-of-registrars-all-counties.

Where do I go to vote? Voter cards will be mailed to individual voters in mid-April. Please watch your mail for these voter cards. Voter information is obtained from the Jefferson County Board of Registrars. If a previous owner has not updated his/her voter information, voter cards for that voter might be received also. Contact the Jefferson County Board of Registrars at 205.325.5550 for more voter information.

How do I vote by absentee ballot? (See information above). Absentee voting for municipal elections is at Vestavia Hills City Hall located at 1032 Montgomery Highway, Vestavia Hills, Alabama 35216; 2nd Floor, City Clerk’s Office. A valid photo ID is required.
