On Wednesday, May 15, the community is invited to participate in the Police Memorial Day service at Vestavia Hills City Hall. In conjunction with this event, the Vestavia Hills Police Department Foundation will be dedicating its Police Memorial to commemorate all officers who have chosen to wear a badge. The inaugural flag raising ceremony will take place at 9am in recognition and appreciation for those who protect and serve.
Among the list of participants for this service are Former District Attorney David Barber, Jefferson County Commissioner Steve Ammons, the Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce and the Vestavia Hills Police Department.
The Police Memorial Monument is made possible through support of individual donors, organizations and officer payroll deductions, under the guidance of the Vestavia Hills Police Foundation.
